We invite any and all interested riders to our first and most important spring semester meeting, Wednesday the 27th at 9 pm in the Rec Center's Club Sports Skybox. We'll be discussing the spring road racing season, spring break trip, doing a jersey order, and more.

Besides the biking itself, the team is a great way to meet new and like-minded people and to tap into Columbia’s cycling community. The meetings are a great way to get your feet wet with the team, so come by and meet some of our members and see what the Mizzou Cycling Team is all about. We welcome any rider, new or experienced, racer or recreational.

Mizzou Cycling's First Mountain Regionals A Success

Mizzou Cycling hosted the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference's regional mountain event Saturday and Sunday for the first time in the club's mountain history. Collegiate teams from all over the Midwest competed in Columbia for cross country, downhill, short track, and dual slalom titles.

The final races of the season were held at Cosmopolitain Park for XC, and the remainder at Mizzou Cycling's on-campus shred zone. With Rock Bridge park rained out, Cosmo delivered fast paced racing on a slightly shorter, six mile lap. The completely redesigned DS and brand new DH courses on-campus were well received by racers, and enhanced the quality of racing. STXC had a slightly longer loop than previous courses, but still included the infamous "Pain and Despair" climb and rocky singletrack descent.

To capture racing on the new gravity courses from a rider's perspective, the helmet cam saw battle atop Brent Davidson's lid. Below is some of the footage.

Thanks to everyone who made 2009 Regionals a success, but in particular to the teams who made the long drive out, all the Mizzou Cycling members who lent a hand, USAC official Mike Gillogly for the whole season, Family Medicine Resident and Mizzou alum Aaron Gray for medical staffing and giving stitches in the parking lot, Rec Sports for so many things, and many others!

Collegiate mountain nationals are in two weeks, stay tuned and see if Mizzou Cycling competes!

Here is a helmet cam view of the DH. It's only 30-40 seconds long, but there are no open sections. There is a creek crossing (gap) at the end that is still in construction. A's should jump, B/C can use the roll around. Dual slalom video should be up tomorrow evening.

From the folks at RideColumbia.com comes the RockBridge trail review. The XC race course will feature this terrain.

DH will not be an Rockbridge Park anymore, so XC times have changed to allow for more practice time at the DH course. Plus the flier is now spiffy looking.

Also, we are trying to reserve a large room at the infamous Shakespeare's Pizza for everyone to come celebrate a great season on Saturday evening. Keep an ear out about that.

Due at the end of the week to the Rec Center are several forms, including a roster, and a signed hold harmless (waiver) form from all members.

All members must fill out a hold harmless form. Whether you're riding this semester or next, you have to fill out one of these bad boys.

Click here for the hold harmless form. Print it off, sign it, and return to any of the officers or preferably directly to the Team mailbox in Rec Center's club sports office top floor of the Rec.

Mizzou to Host MWCCC Mountain Bike Regionals

After hosting mountain bike races for the past few years, the Team has decided to step up and host the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference regional championship. With a revised XC and DS course, and the addition of a DH race, we are excited to offer regional level competition to the MWCCC.
